This Christmas knitting project shows you how to knit a festive knitted elf tea post cover for your Christmas tea time.
With cream
Cast on 74 stitches
Row 1) knit into the back of every stitch
Row 2) k I p I
Row 3) p1 k1
Row 4) k1 p1
Row 5) p1 k 1
Stocking stitch 14 rows
K37 turn. Continue in theses 37stitches
Work 16 rows in stocking
Now work 16 rows on the remaining 37 stitches
Once you have completed both sides knit across so you have 74 stitches again
K 6 rows stocking stitch in cream
Change to red
Stoking stitch 6 rows ( red )
(You colours are in blocks of 6 rows)
Now Change to green.
Stocking stitch 2 rows
Next row (k6 k2 tog)to the end
P1 row
Next row (k6 k2 tog)to the end
Stocking stitch 3 rows
Change to white ( k6 k2 tog ) to the end

Break off yarn and thread through stitches (and secure.)
Stitch up the sides leaving a gap for the teapot handle
Thread some brown wool through the area where the cream finishes and the red of the hat begins to make the hair ( optional)
Stitch a bell on the hat to make it festive
Make a face
I made eye lids by casting on 10 stitches in cream
Make 2 stocking stitch 2 rows
Next row k2 tog at the beginning of the next 4 rows
Cast off
The eyes and mouth are embroidered on
Finished.
