COSY
FRONT AND BACK (make 2 alike)
With 1 strand of 1 st color and 1 strand of 2nd color, cast on 40 sts. and work 4 rows in garter st. (every row k.) Change to st.st. (1 row k., 1 row p.) and work 6 rows.

These last 10 rows form the pattern which is referred to below.

Keep working in Pattern and cont. until work measures 4.5 inch (11.5cm)

Your next row will depend on where you are in the pattern sequence.

This is the pattern sequence:
Row 1 - Knit
Row 2 - Knit
Row 3 - Knit
Row 4 - Knit
Row 5 - Knit
Row 6 - Purl
Row 7 - Knit
Row 8 - Purl
Row 9 - Knit
Row 10 - Purl

For example , say you were on row 8 when you have reached 4.5 inches (11.5cm) Your next row would be Row 9.

Next row K4, K2 tog to the end (22sts)
Next row P2 tog to the end (11sts)

Next 7 rows continue in pattern sequence.
So you are now back to row 8.

Next row, P2 tog, p1,p2 tog to the end. (8sts)

Knit row.
Next row, p2 tog to end (4sts)

Cast off.

I have a cream blackberry and ruffled round powder puff cover (Celine box inside) with a lid...what could it have been used for? I didn't knit it, but it is darling. Could it have been a special cover for her powder, or was the round box used to make a holder for???

The reason I gave this 5 stars was that I didn't understand the directions and the patterns was rewritten and now I do!!! Thanks so much
