What you need

2 chenille sticks (pipe cleaners)

A small handful of beads (pony beads or similar)

Craft glue or hot glue (with adult supervision)

Ribbon or string for hanging

Scissors

Instructions

Let’s Make It:

  1. Cut and Twist:
Snip both chenille sticks in half. You’ll end up with 4 pieces—2 slightly longer, 2 slightly shorter. Take one long and one short piece and twist them together in the middle to form a cross (+ shape).

  2. Form the Snowflake Base:
Repeat with the remaining two pieces, then layer your crosses on top of each other in an asterisk/star shape. Secure them in place with a dab of glue where they overlap.

  3. Add Beads:
Thread one or two beads onto each arm of the snowflake. Push them about halfway down.

  4. Create the V Accents:
Cut more small pieces of chenille stick and bend each into a little “V.” Glue a V onto each snowflake arm, about halfway down. While the glue is still tacky, slide the bead down so it nestles at the base of the V—this holds everything neatly in place.

  5. Finish with Flair:
Add one final bead to the tip of each snowflake arm and V for extra sparkle. Let everything dry completely.

  6. Hang It Up:
Tie a cord or ribbon to the top and your handmade snowflake is ready to shimmer on the tree!

Crafty Tip: These also make adorable gift toppers or window decorations—and they’re light enough to mail inside a holiday card!

Add a cord to the top and hang.

  1. Very Cute!!

  2. If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t comment at all. Come on people. I think it is nice for others to offer their ideas. YOU can make them look any way you want them to.
