Take your paper cup and cutting lines down the cup around 1/4 of an inch apart all the way around.
If the kids are doing the cutting they can use decorative scissors or blunt kids scissors for safety.
Once the cuts have been made around 1/3 of the way down the cup just roll them down with your fingers.
if the kids are having troubles they can roll them around a pencil. this will give it a curly edged effect.
Use some wire to make a handle or for ease-ability use a soft cheinnile stick which will add decoration to the basket.
You can add the handle to basket with strong tape, glue or just pop it through the cup. and bend it on the otherside.
It really depends on how much weight you intend to put in the basket.
decorate with pens or paints add some shreded paper and you have a very cute inexpensive basket.
