  • 92 metres 5mm Polypropylene
    8 round natural beads
    1 x7.5cm ring
    2 x 10cm rings
    1 x 12.5cm ring
    1 x15cm ring

Preparation:

Cut 16 cords each 5.60 metres long 1 cord 2 metres long then cover ring

Drop down 2cm and Triple Half Hitch all cords to 15cm ring.

N.B.: Work should measure 15cm between 10cm and 15cm rings.

Drop down 2cm and tie 3 rows of

Alternate Square Knots decreasing the dist-.

ance between each row to 12mm apart.

Separate cords into 4 groups with 2 Square

Knots in each.

Place a bead on cords 3 to 6.

Tie 1 Vertical Half Hitch with cords 2 and 7

around cords 1 and 8.

Step 1: Tie 6 left hand Half Square Knots with cords 1 to 4 and 6 right hand Half Square Knots with cords 5 to

Step 2: Alternate cords and tie 6 right hand Half Square Knots with cords 3 to

6.

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 five times. Then Step 1

once more.

Add a bead as before exchange cords

after tying Vertical Half Hitch beside bead

then tie a 7.5cm sinnet of Half

Square Knots with each group. long cords

are now Working Cords.

Drop down 7.5cm , alternate cords and

tie 4 Half Square Knots.

Drop down 5cm and Double Half Hitch

all cords to 15cm ring.

Trim cords, fray then brush out.

Finished length: 110cm Holds: 20cm Decor Pot. Instructions:

Cover 7.5cm ring using 2 metre cord tying Half Square Knots with ring as Filler, start knotting at mid-point. At their mid-point, place all cords through ring. Taking a cord from each side at back of ring, tie 4 Half Square Knots around all other cords.

Drop down 4cm.and Double Half Hitch cords to 10cm ring. Separate cords into 8 groups of 4 cords.

Row 1: Tie 6 Half Square Knots with every second group all round.

Row 2: Alternate cords and tie 6 Half Square Knots with every group all round. Keep all knots horizontal.

Row 3: Alternate cords and tie 6 Half Square Knots with every second group all round, using same cords used in Row 1.

Double Half Hitch all cords to 10cm

ring.

Drop down 2cm and tie 5 rows of

Alternate Square Knots 2cm apart.

HINT: When fraying out cords prior to brushing always unfray every ply until each strand has a natural fibre texture and the tassel will brush out full and soft without tangles. Also it is important to start brushing at the ends then work upwards and brush right through with every stroke using a fine stiff wire brush.
