Kitten Toy

hey, this is actually a nice little project. Single-crocheting (sc) 3 x into each stitch (sc) produces a spiral. The chain of 150 starts out very long, but as the project spirals, it gets shorter. The 20 skipped (sk) chain stitches (chs) create a loop handle so you can drag & wiggle it around for your cat, or hang it from something. If you like to de-stress by crocheting, but don't want it complicated, then this is great. (after the chain, it's an easy waltz: 1-2-3, 1-2-3...) I used a furry yarn to match my son's cats' (Canon Feathers) & might also try Lion Fun Fur.

Sk means to skip. You want to skip the first 20 chains. I expect this is to give you a loop to hold onto while you play with your cat!

Thanks for sharing. I grabbed the nearest scrap yarn and hook and whipped one up and the kitten loves it. So does the older cat.

I think this is a good project for beginners, thanks for posting it! would like to have seen a pic though (am just learning to crochet) to see if I did it right. But my cats won't know the difference, right!? lol thanks again!

It sounds like a cute toy. Do you have any pictures! I cant read patterning well so a picture would help. I would love to make this for my friend. Her cat just had kittens.

why is there so much anger on this website's posting? If you don't like the project don't critize others to the extreme you have gone to. I am new to this website and could not beleive what I just read.

Grace, You look ridiculous putting someone's intellect down. Especially when it's an assumption on your part. Overly sensitive! High school! I made this and my cat hated it. A photo would have shown me it's a toy my cats don't care for BEFOREHAND.
