Halloween Votive

Halloween Votive

Perfect for Halloween nights, using a store bought glass candle holder or a jar, you can make these easy candle holders.

What you need

Small Halloween stickers
Tissue paper
Orange or black paint
Paint brush
Votive candle holder or Jar

Instructions

Start by taking your glass Jar or holder and making sure it is clean inside and out, as once we are done you wont be able to wash it.

Take the tissue paper and tear it up into small 1 inch (2.5cm) sized pieces until you have 30 or so pieces to work with. The quantity required will depend on the size of your project.

Take around 1 tbs of glue and add a teaspoon of water to it and mix it well. The glue should be runny but still a nice strong white color. This makes it easier to use.

Paint the glass and pick up on piece of tissue paper and stick it down, painting over it with the glue. Add another piece of paper overlapping it so there are no gaps. Continue to do this until the jar is covered.

Once it is dry, use your stickers to decorate the front and sides of the jar. Make sure your stickers are not too big or the glow of the candle won’t show through.

Place a small tea light candle into the jar and light and the votive will glow.

Make sure you never leave a candle unattended at any time.

The picture above uses halloween stickers only on a glass votive. Don’t forget to send us pictures of your completed votives to be added to this project.
