Recipes in a Mug

These make great little gifts for friends and family for every occasion from Christmas to birthdays, to mothers day's and even just a pick me up for someone who is feeling down.

For these recipes you will need a mug that is oven proof to be able to cook the item in the mug. Your mug should fit around 1 1/2 cups of liquid into it.

Fill the mug with the mug ingredients that have been placed into an airtight or ziplock bag and attach the recipe card instructions.

Tie the whole mug up with some cellophane or add some curling ribbons and a bow to finish off this gift

Mug Ingredients:
4 tbs of flour
1 tsp of cocoa
2 tbs of brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg

Mix all the ingredients together and place into an airtight bag and place into the mug.

Tag Instructions:
2 tbs of molasses
1 egg
2 tbs of warm water

Preheat oven to 350'F or 165'C.

Mix all the ingredients together along with the mug ingredients, mix well and pour batter into the lightly greased mug. Bake in oven for 20 minutes.

no. you shouldn't have to add aditional cook time, and if it would need more, it wouldn't need much more.

I like it, except if you want to give this as a gift to a college student, you might want to put a little container with molasses in it with it because college students don't just have a jar of molasses sitting around in their dorms (I am a college student myself, and I even bake alot, but I still don't have a jar of molasses).

This sounds great! I'll be trying it tonight. Does any one know if you can bake more than one at a time? And if so do I need to add additional cook time?
