Dust Bunny

  • Size eight double point needles.

    Yellow Bunny;1 strand worsted weight soft yarn & 1 strand of fun fur.

    Blue & White;1 strand Lionbrand Jiffy or a bulky yarn of your choice.

    Other Supplies;
    Stuffing
    Sew on wiggle eyes or yarn to make eyes with. My wiggle eyes are 10mm.

Gauge; Not important, have you ever seen an even dust bunny? LOL

You could use any yarn you want adjusting the size of your needles.

Ears (Make 2);Slip 1st stitch every row on the ears.

Cast on 3 stitches.

Row 1; Knit .

Row 2;Purl.

Row 3;Knit 1, increase 1 in next stitch, knit 1.(4 stitches)

Row 4;Purl.

Row 5;Knit.

Repeat rows 4 & 5 until the ear measures about 3 & 1/2 inches,working a purl row last.

Finishing

Row 1; Knit 2 together twice.(2 stitches)

Row 2;Slip 1 Knit 1, pass slipped stitch over the knit stitch.

Cut leaving an end long enough to feed back down theinside of the ear to the bottom, or cut short knot and fray the ends.

Set aside. You will want to sew the ears to the beginning end or to part of your
bunny at some point before you begin stuffing the dust bunny.

Body

Cast on 8 stitches

Distribute on 3 needles.

Round 1; Increase 1 in each stitch around.(16 stitches)

Round 2; Knit around.

Round 3; Knit 1 stitch, increase in next stitch around.(24 stitches)

Round 4;Knit around.

Round 5;Knit 2 stitches, increase 1 in the next stitch around.(32 stitches)

Round 6;Knit around.

Round 7;Knit 3 stitches, increase 1 in the next stitch around.(40 stitches)

Round 8;Knit around.Knit even until the body is as long as it is wide.

If you haven't already sewn the eyes and ears on do this now.

Decreasing

Round 1;Knit 3, knit 2 together around.(32 stitches)

Round 2;Knit.

Round 3;Knit 2, knit 2 together around.(24 stitches)

Round 4;Knit.

Round 5;Knit 1, knit 2 together around.(16 stitches)

Round 6;Knit.

Cut yarn leaving the end long enough to pull through the stitches and sew shut, if needed.

I love this bunny. I used some leftover white wool blend and tan fun fur. Already "lost" one to a coworker, and most can't keep their hands off my bunny. Fun, Easy, Quick. Thank you
