This free knitting pattern shows you how to knit a quick kids hat that is perfect for beginners.
1) CAST ON:
For NEWBORN:32 stitches
3 - 6 months:34 stitches
6 - 12 months: 38 stitches
1 - 3 years: 40 stitches
3 - 5 YEARS: 42 stitches
5 - 12 YRS: 44 stitches
Adult: 46 stitches.
2) KNIT EVERY ROW
FOR: Newborn: 5 inches
3 - 6 months: 5 1/2 inches
6 - 12 months: 6 inches
1 - 3 yrs.: 6 1/2 inches
3 - 5 yrs.: 7 inches
5 - 12 yrs: 7 inches
Adult: 8 inches
Cast off stitches. Leave a long tail of yarn.
Thread into a darning needle.
Weave through the cast off end of the
rectangle, 3 rows down from the top.
Gather tightly, and take a few stitches
to secure. Then sew up the seam of the
hat. Weave ends of yarn into finished
work. YOU ARE DONE!! ENJOY!!
