  • Hand towel or Toweling fabric
    Sewing machine
    contrasting border fabric

This baby burp cloth is ideal for spills and spit ups. They make lovely personalized gifts for baby showers. Take your fabric 6 inch x 23 inch(16cm x 60cm) wide Or a hand towel cut in half. Hem the edges of the towel or fabric piece. Take a 8 inch x 3 inch (20 cm x 7cm)rectangle of the contrast fabric and iron a hem around the edges. Sew into place 3.5 inches (8 cm) in from either end as shown in the picture. These look great rolled up in gift baskets for baby shower gifts.

I have been looking for baby burp towels, I made a quilt and have leftover fabric.
I made the quilt in flannels and cotton. This gives more ideas how I will do this.

These are very cute, and great for gifts.

Thank you,
Donna

I went one step further.....I made bibs out of wash cloths. I cut a hole (for the neck) and then I took seam binding and sewed it all around the the neck area and the rest of the bib leaving enough seam binding to use as ties to tie the bib on. Then I took cut outs of fabrics (Winnie the Pooh, hot air balloons etc) and some I zigzag sewed on the bib/washcloth and some I used iron on adhesive to put the cut outs on. Not only are the bibs big enough (for when the toddler starts to feed themselves) but then you just wet it and use it as a washcloth to clean their face and hands when their finished eating.

I made these many years ago from flannelfor baby showers. They were unique then and used instead of cloth diapers (when pampers were just coming in vogue. These are more practical and cuter. Thanks

I use to make my version of these but these are much nicer.I made them for shower gifts and everyone thought they were unique.I made them when cloth diapers were plentiful and people used those as burp clothes.
