Amigurumi Crochet Pattern – Oh Poo!

I've been told this Amigurumi pattern makes a nice potty training helper. A very cute item to add to your toy collection. Makes a unique gift too!

What you need

Finished size: about 5″ tall
gauge: 7sc=2″ 2rows=1″

Crochet hook size 4.00 (G6)
worsted yarn, stuffing, yarn needle for sewing, stitch marker (I use a small bobby pin),
crafters glue, small amount of felt for facial features, and a pair of ‘wiggly eyes’

Instructions

Do not join rounds unless specified, use a stitch marker and move after each rnd is complete.

rnd 1: ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch frm hk, place stitch marker

rnd 2: *2sc* arnd (16sc)

rnd 3: *sc, 2sc* (24sc)

rnd 4: *sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next st* (32sc)

rnds5-6: working in both loops from now on *sc* arnd

rnd 7: *sc in next 2sts, sc dec* (24sc)

rnd 8: *sc* arnd

rnd 9: *sc, sc dec* (16sc)

rnd 10: *sc* arnd

rnd 11: *sc dec* (8sc)

rnd 12: *2sc* arnd (16sc)

rnd 13: *sc, 2sc* (24sc)

rnds 14-15: *sc*

rnd 16: *sc dec* (12sc)

rnd 17: *sc, sc dec* (8sc)

rnd 18: *sc*

stuff now

You won’t need the stitch marker anymore.

rnd 19: ch 3 (counts as first dc)

dc in same st, 2dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 4sts, sc in last sts, join to top of first ch 3

rnd 20: ch 2, hdc in next 4sts (leave the remainder of sts un-worked)

finish off leaving a long end for sewing

stuff a bit more, then sew closed

take the wiggly eyes and glue them near rnds 9&10

with felt cut 2 small circles and glue those to one side of each eye

cut a small piece for mouth and glue that under the eyes

  1. are rows 1-4 worked in front loop? as 5-6 says work in both loops. and is this pattern in UK stitch or USA as my poo doesn’t look like the picture, im in UK Thanku x

  8. It’s hard to believe that some get so upset by a purse made from a bra, or a what-not box made from an empty tampon container, yet most who have responded think the crocheted poo is “cute”. I guess it was so appalling only those who liked it responded. This is a little TOO “cute” for me, but to each his own!

  18. The people in my knitting group loved this pattern! Very easy to follow w/great results! It’ll be a gag gift for a friend. I took a stitch marker and wrapped some red yarn around it so that the mouth is in the shape of an “O”. CUTE!
